Commercial Grease Trap & Interceptor Pumping

Fully Licensed and Insured

Grease traps and interceptors are your kitchen's first line of defense

They catch fats, oils, and grease (FOG) along with food solids before they reach the municipal sewer system. Left unmaintained, a full trap stops doing its job: grease and food waste back up into your kitchen, drains run slow, odors build, and health inspectors take notice. Santech provides scheduled and on-call grease trap and interceptor pumping for restaurants, hotels, hospitals, schools, grocery stores, and event venues across our SC service area.

Why it matters

South Carolina Regulation 61-56 requires every business with a grease trap to have it cleaned by a licensed septage pumper at regular intervals, and some local ordinances set their own minimum — a few require monthly service regardless of trap size. As a rule of thumb, a trap should be pumped once grease and solids reach 25% of its depth (about 6 inches), whichever comes first — for a busy kitchen that's often every 4 to 8 weeks. We'll help you figure out the right interval for your kitchen and keep you ahead of it, not chasing it.

Signs your trap needs attention now, not at your next scheduled visit:

  • Foul, sour odor near sinks, drains, or the trap lid

  • Slow-draining sinks or dishwashers

  • Gurgling sounds from floor drains

  • Grease sheen or solids backing up into the kitchen

  • A note on your last health inspection

Our process:

  1. Inspect — We check fill level and inlet/outlet/sample port function before we start.

  2. Pump — Full removal of grease, solids, and wastewater from indoor traps (typically 20–50 gallons) and outdoor interceptors (500 to 1,500+ gallons).

  3. Scrape & clean — We scrape hardened grease from the trap walls and baffles, not just what pumps out easily, so it doesn't re-coat and refill immediately.

  4. Document — You get a service record with date, time, volume removed, and disposal destination, ready for your health department file or landlord.

  5. Advise — We'll flag any damage, undersized equipment, or scheduling changes we notice, so small problems don't turn into an emergency call.

We serve restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, schools, hospitals, grocery stores, and event venues throughout Lexington, Aiken, Batesburg-Leesville, Saluda, Greenwood, Edgefield, and Newberry counties.
