THE IMPORTANT PART

Products help. Pumping is still the rule.

No bottle or accessory can remove the solids already stored in your tank. Pumping frequency depends on tank size, household use and system condition, but many homes fall in the three-to-five-year range.

If you do not know when the tank was last serviced, we can help you determine the next practical step.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Septic product FAQs

Straight answers before you buy or use anything in your system.

Do septic additives eliminate the need for pumping?

No. Additives cannot remove accumulated solids from the tank. Regular inspection and pumping are still necessary.

What should never be flushed?

Keep wipes—including those labeled flushable—grease, feminine products, paper towels, cat litter and harsh chemicals out of the system. Toilet waste and septic-safe toilet paper are what it is designed to receive.

How often should my septic tank be pumped?

Many homes need service about every three to five years, but household size, tank capacity and usage can shorten that interval. Call us for a recommendation based on your property.

Can I install a filter or riser myself?

Correct sizing, secure lids and safe tank access matter. Contact Santech if you are unsure which component fits or want professional installation.
